Conference Scope and Topics

The 1st Algerian-German International Confernce on New Technologies and their Impact on Society (AGICNT) is to be held at the University Ferhat Abbas - Sétif (Algeria) in May 2008.

The AGICNT conference organizers and committee are working to provide an exciting and engaging forum for you to explore, understand and develop your interest and involvement in new technologies and their impact on society. All abstract submissions undergo peer-review.



Topics of interest include, but are not restricted to, the following:

• Optronics
• Solar Energy
• New Information and Communication
  Technologies (ICTs)

We invite contributions from members of both the engineering sciences and the social sciences with experience of exploring, developing, applying and evaluating new technologies and/or their impact on society. The conference aims to foster inter-disciplinary discussions on new technologies and their implications.

Part of the conference is the Satellite Meeting: "Three Decades of Algerian-German Cooperation in Optics and Electronics".



The conference is organized by the University Ferhat Abbas - Sétif (Algeria) together with the University of Ilmenau (Germany). Both universities look back on a history of more than 25 years of intercultural cooperation in the field of new technology teaching and research. As an Algerian-German conference AGICNT aims to promote inter-cultural exchange on new technologies and their impact on more or less developed countries.

Conference Registration and Fees

Conference registration opens at December 1, 2007. The registration form can be downloaded via the conference website (www.agicnt.org) or requested via e-mail (info@agicnt.org).

• International participants fee: 600 EUR (including attendance to the conference, conference bag, coffee breaks, conference dinner)
• Algerian participants fee: 6000 DA (including attendance to the conference, conference bag, coffee breaks, conference dinner)

Payments can be made upon arrival or through a bank transfer.

Conference Grants

Six grants are available for the travel expenses of scholars presenting outstanding papers at the AGICNT.

Method of Application: To apply for a conference grant scholars need to submit their abstracts together with the completed conference grant application form (download via conference website: www.agicnt.org). Grant recipients will be selected by the program committee based on abstract quality.
